14 Faculty Members Recognized for 2014-15 Teaching Excellence

More than a dozen Kelley School of Business faculty members were recognized for their contributions in the classroom at this year’s commencement ceremonies on Mother’s Day. Associate Professor of Finance Catherine Bonser-Neal was awarded an Evening MBA Teaching Excellence award for the ninth time, while associate faculty member John Snell, who teaches a pair of undergraduate real estate classes, was honored with the Schuyler F. Otteson award for the eighth time.

Two faculty members received a pair of awards Sunday. Associate Professor of Finance Steve Jones won the Lilly Alumni Teaching Excellence award and an Evening MBA Teaching Excellence award. And Assistant Professor of Accounting Gregory Martin received the Graduate Accounting Teaching Excellence award and the Otteson award for full-time professors.

TRUSTEES’ TEACHING AWARDS

Established to honor individuals who have a positive impact on learning through the direct teaching of students, especially undergraduates:

SCHUYLER F. OTTESON AWARDS

Presented by the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis Student Government each year to the top full-time and part-time faculty members teaching in the undergraduate program:

  • Charlotte Westerhaus-Renfrow

Part-time faculty

  • John Snell (1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2011, 2015)

GRADUATE ACCOUNTING TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD

Presented to the top faculty member in the graduate accounting program:

  • Gregory Martin

EVENING MBA TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Presented annually to the top instructors in the Evening MBA Program:

  • Kyle Anderson
  • Catherine Bonser-Neal (1998, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2015)
  • Vicki Daniels (2013, 2014, 2015)
  • Steven Jones (2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2015)
  • Tod Perry (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015)

THE LILLY ALUMNI TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD

The highest faculty award given each year for a professor who teaches in the Evening MBA program:

  • Steven Jones
