Students recognized for excellence

A number of Kelley School students at IUPUI were honored this spring semester with both campus-wide and school awards and recognitions.

Julie Pettypool, BS’20, recipient of the 2020 J. Dwight Peterson Key Award

Julie Pettypool, BS’20, was recognized as the 2020 J. Dwight Peterson Key Award winner. The J. Dwight Peterson Key Award is the most prestigious award conferred to undergraduate students by the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis. It is presented to the overall outstanding senior on the basis of superior scholarship, extracurricular activities and character. Pettypool is majoring in finance and will graduate in May 2020.

Tiffany Keown received the William M. Plater Civic Engagement Award. The award honors graduating students at IUPUI who’ve shown an exemplary commitment to the community.

Each year, the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis undergraduate faculty identify graduating seniors to receive Outstanding Student Awards. One student from each major is selected for this prestigious honor. To be considered, students must have a minimum 3.5 major and IU cumulative GPAs.

Tiffany Keown received the William M. Plater Civic Engagement Award.

Each year, the graduating student with the highest GPA receives the Chancellor’s Scholar Award.  This year, the recipient is Hongyi Zheng. Hongyi is an accounting and finance double major.

The top two students in the class receive the Delta Sigma Pi Key Award. This year, that award goes to Hongyi Zheng and Qianjing Liang.

IUPUI also recognizes the three students with the highest GPA as Senior Scholars. The recipients are Hongyi Zheng, Qianjing Liang and Shelby Pake.

The Kelley Indianapolis Student Government (KISG) also recognizes students and faculty each year:

Rising Star: Heather Ziegler

Faculty Advisor of the Year: Mark Ippolito, senior lecturer in operations management

Representative of the Year: David Burris (Finance and Investment Club)

Organization of the Year: Finance and Investment Club, David Burris

KISG Outstanding Leader of the Year: Jayce Everling

Kelley School at IUPUI Top 100 honorees for 2020

Seven Kelley School of Business Indianapolis Undergraduate students were honored by IUPUI as part of the Top 100. This year, that included Ryan Fraser, Andrea Hanas, Nidhi Ramanathan, Jarrett Rozzi, Michila Weddle, Meghan Ziegler and Jaci Zook. To read more about Kelley Indy’s Top 100 honorees, click here.

GRADUATE ACCOUNTING PROGRAMS

Two students in the Graduate Accounting Programs were recognized with awards this year. Amadou Bailo Bah received the Graduate Accounting Academic Excellence Award.

Neetu Rastogi received the Graduate Accounting Leadership Award.

EVENING MBA PROGRAM

In the Evening MBA Program at IUPUI, several students received the Evening MBA Academic Excellence Award. This includes Jared Davis, Jack M. Schneider, Dustin Kleppe, Naqash Palathamveed and Gurpreet Saini.
