Hundreds to graduate from the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis

Posted on May 5, 2016 by Teresa Mackin

Nearly 600 students will graduate from the Kelley School of Business Indianapolis on Sunday, May 8.

Students earning bachelor’s, MBA and master’s in accounting or taxation degrees will participate in a commencement celebration in the Sagamore Ballroom at the Indiana Convention Center, beginning at 5:00 pm. This will take place after IUPUI’s afternoon ceremony.

The youngest graduate is 20 years old, and the oldest is 61. Our baccalaureate graduates represent 32 different states and 31 countries.

The Kelley Class of 2016 includes talented students with inspiring stories and motivations. A mother and her son are graduating together, both with a major in management. A father and son pair also will walk the stage with double majors in marketing and supply chain. The second class of Physician MBA graduates includes physicians who will be earning their first degrees in the United States. An Indiana table tennis champion will graduate with a double major in accounting and international studies. Another graduate says the degree she receives on Mother’s Day is for her mother, who passed away recently.

Many new graduates have secured jobs throughout central Indiana and beyond. They’ll be working as auditors, supply chain operations associates, financial analysts and more, at employers like Rolls Royce, Frito Lay, Ernst & Young, Delta Faucet and Interactive Intelligence.

“The leadership potential and talent of these graduates is extraordinary. I expect any number of Kelley entrepreneurs in a host of industries,” said Philip L. Cochran, executive associate dean—Indianapolis for the Kelley School. “As educators, we expect the graduates we send forth to create a society better than the one today. Our students possess the ability to do just that. I urge these graduates to remember the lessons they’ve learned at Kelley and proudly proclaim what they’ve accomplished.”
