My name is Nicole Kingma. I am a senior here at the Kelley School of Business majoring in marketing. I cannot believe it, I really am a senior! After I graduate, I see myself in the sports marketing field running social media or sports event planning. I have had three amazing internships during my time at IUPUI, and the hands-on experiences have been priceless.
I was employed at Community Healthplex Sports Club as a Children’s Programming Coordinator, basketball instructor, volleyball instructor, and Safe Sitter instructor. Last summer I was a street team intern for Entercom Communications, a national radio broadcasting company that owns Indianapolis stations WZPL and Indy’s Mix. Through this internship I was able to gain hands-on marketing experience while running social media, attending concerts, hosting live Switch Parties with popular artists, and helping when I could around the office.
Finally, this semester I was offered an internship with Kelley in the External Affairs department as an Alumni and Special Events intern. Within this department I run social media, assist with the IUPUI men’s basketball sponsorship, and attend Kelley events. Along with my internship I am taking on my final year as a student at IUPUI and I couldn’t be more excited. This involves my first semester of J401 (Part 1 of the senior business capstone course), scheduling my final senior semester of classes, and beginning the stressful job search.
My goal in taking over the Kelley social media accounts is to get more students involved. I would like to hand over the Instagram and Twitter accounts to student groups that are participating in a competition, going on a class trip, or even studying abroad. If you have any interest in doing this, feel free to shoot me an email! We are always wanting to get students involved on Facebook as well, so if you ever need events promoted or Kelley event pictures posted, just let me know! Also, don’t ever hesitate to ask me questions about my time at IUPUI, a certain class, or anything else!
Welcome to my blog. I look forward to interacting with each and every one of you!
