Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Chancellor Charles R. Bantz recently recognized outstanding faculty and students at the annual Chancellor’s Academic Honors Convocation. Four Kelley School of Business Indianapolis faculty members and one student were recognized for academic excellence, achievements in research, and other outstanding accomplishments during the 2013-14 academic year.

The Kelley faculty members were acknowledged as External Achievement award recipients, having received honors outside of IUPUI that are local, regional, or statewide in nature. KSBI faculty members recognized were:

  • Gregory W. Martin, Assistant Professor of Accounting, was named the 2013 United State’s Air Force Academy’s Deputy Liaison Officer Director of the Year in Indiana.
  • Robert S. Neal, Associated Professor of Finance, received the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Indianapolis.
  • Kim Saxton, Clinical Associate Professor of Marketing, received Indiana University’s President’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
  • Curtis Wesley II, Assistant Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship, was selected as Indiana’s Nomination Board President for the U.S. Naval Academy.

Kristin Pierce, a senior marketing major, was one of 25 Chancellor’s Scholars. Chancellor’s Scholar Awards are presented campus-wide by academic school to the highest achieving seniors. At the Kelley Scholarships & Awards Breakfast earlier in the day, Pierce was recognized as the J. Dwight Peterson Award winner, as well as the outstanding student in marketing.

Pierce began her career at IUPUI as a student-athlete in soccer. She has completed all areas of the RISE challenge, as well as service activities through IUPUI Athletics, IUPUI Alternative Spring Break, and Delta Sigma Phi professional fraternity. She also was named one of IUPUI’s Top 100 Students in 2014.
